2025-26 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

The first-round pick (pictured below) would have been a considerable longshot at the beginning of the season, with other quarterbacks and offensive players among the favorites, including New York Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart and Tampa Bay Buccaneers dynamo WR Emeka Egbuka.

The Favorites

Jaxson Dart (+100) – QB – New York Giants

It’s been a long time since Giants fans had real hope for the future of their football team, but perhaps there’s light at the end of the tunnel after all. Despite their 2-5 record, it appears they may have finally found a quarterback worth getting excited about. Of course, Giants fans once felt the same way about Daniel Jones, and we all saw how the organization ultimately handled that situation.

That said, Dart has been a pleasant surprise at the start of his professional career, throwing for 791 yards with seven touchdown passes and three interceptions, while also rushing for 178 yards and three more scores. The numbers aren’t overly flashy, but the Giants are at least competing, and as mentioned earlier, they probably should have come away with a big road win over a strong Broncos team that currently leads the AFC West.

If Dart can keep the Giants competitive the rest of the way and continue to improve week by week, he’s the only player likely to keep pace with Egbuka at the top of the odds board. And given that he plays the most important position in sports for a team based in the New York Metro area, it’s easy to see Dart eventually emerging on top in this race.

Emeka Egbuka (+175) – WR – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If not for the emergence of Jaxson Dart as the Giants’ starting quarterback, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year race might already feel like a foregone conclusion, as Buccaneers rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka has been nothing short of spectacular in his debut season.

Egbuka hit a bit of a snag over the past two weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during Tampa Bay’s 30-19 win over the 49ers in Week 6. However, he managed to return to the lineup in Week 7 and showed few signs of being limited, hauling in four catches for 58 yards in the Bucs’ 24-9 loss to the Lions.

He’ll be counted on even more in Week 8, with Tampa’s receiving corps battered all season and now down Mike Evans for the year and Chris Godwin for at least this game. That means more targets, more production, and more momentum in the Rookie of the Year race. If Egbuka plays a key role in helping Tampa secure one of the top playoff seeds in the NFC, that could very well tilt the race in his favor over Dart.

Tyler Warren (+650) – TE – Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have been one of the biggest surprises of the young season, and dynamic rookie tight end Tyler Warren has been a key reason why Shane Steichen’s offense is firing on all cylinders during Indy’s 6-1 start.

New Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has quickly developed a strong connection with the 14th overall pick out of Penn State, targeting him for 33 receptions, 439 yards and three touchdowns.

While Warren has been a steady presence in the lineup, his path to Offensive Rookie of the Year largely depends on the two frontrunners stumbling down the stretch. Still, much like Egbuka, the fact that he is producing on a contender only strengthens his case. If Warren strings together a few big performances in the coming weeks, he is a name worth watching, especially at +650 where he still holds tremendous value.

If he does pull it off, Warren would become the first tight end in NFL history to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Quinshon Judkins (+1300) – WR – Carolina Panthers

Prior to the kickoff of the 2025 NFL season, few people would have projected Quinshon Judkins to be the top rookie running back by Week 8. With players like Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton in the mix, and considering Judkins was not even signed until right before the season began, expectations were minimal.

Yet that is exactly what has happened. While Judkins is unlikely to unseat the three frontrunners ahead of him, any setback for Dart, Egbuka or Warren could quickly put him back in the conversation.

The Browns offense has been limited for much of the year, but Judkins looks like a potential star. He has topped 80 rushing yards and scored a touchdown in four of his last five games. His most recent outing against the Dolphins was a workhorse performance with 25 carries for 84 yards and three touchdowns.

If you are not looking to back Dart or Egbuka and prefer a sleeper pick, Judkins stands out as the best value option at this stage of the season.

Recent Trends For The NFL OROTY Award

Quarterbacks Rule the Spotlight

Just like in the NFL MVP, this is an award that trends towards going to the man under center.

Since 2000, 11 quarterbacks have won Offensive Rookie of the Year.

When a rookie QB starts right away, the award is often theirs to lose. Think Daniels in 2024, or C.J. Stroud in 2023 and Justin Herbert in 2020.

Running Backs and Wideouts Still Shine

While quarterbacks win this award at the highest frequency, don’t rule out the explosive running back or wide receiver, as in seasons where the rookie quarterback class is a bit weaker these are the skill positions on offense that come out winning the award.

There has never been a tight end named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and this award has also never gone to an offensive lineman.

Winning Isn’t Everything

The award is based on individual production, not team success. Plenty of winners have won the award while playing for teams that didn’t have the best seasons.

Recent examples of this occurring include Garrett Wilson winning Rookie of the Year in 2022 for the 7-10 Jets, Justin Herbert winning in 2020 for the 7-9 Chargers, Kyler Murray winning in 2019 for the 5-10-1 Arizona Cardinals, and Saquon Barkley winning in 2018 for the 5-11 New York Giants.
